National Baking Week- 17^th-23^rd October celebrates National Baking Week and I have to admit that there has definitely been an air of excitement in the office.

This year’s event is based around ‘Bake and Share’ encouraging everyone to put on their apron and get into the kitchen.

I’m a real foodie and I’m often surrounded by others who love food. So discussing recipes and sharing them isn’t too unusual for me and the team at Bath-Knight. However, I know that for some finding the perfect recipe isn’t so easy.

This is why I’ve been really impressed with the National Baking Week website. Not only is it wonderful to look at themed beautifully with cakes, gingerbread and perfect icing. It shares some fantastic recipes including video recipes from master baker Ruth Clemens.

The site has been created with getting people baking in mind. Highlight all the pleasures that baking offers with hints and tips which make baking easy for you.

My favourite recipe featured on the site is the Caramelised Onion and Brie Pastry Wrap- one which I will be trying out over the weekend.

Go-On Give an Hour- Earlier this week I blogged about ‘Give an Hour’ an incentive which aims at creating Digital Champions out of ordinary internet users who offer their help to people who aren’t currently online.

Give an Hour is cleverly using the hour which we gain on 30^th October when the clocks go back to encourage everyone to lend a helping hand by passing on their internet skills.

For those who pledge an hour the Give an Hour website is a brilliant resource packed with information and inspiration to help share your skills. I would recommend using the ‘Handy Resources’ section of the site where you can down a welcome pack which contains everything you need including beginners guides, certificates and quick tips!

In addition the site features videos from people who have recently joined the digital world explaining the benefits of their life now they are using the internet. Along with a video from the UK‘s Digital Champion Martha Lane Fox who explains how and why the Give and Hour scheme could make a real difference.

I feel extremely positive about Give an Hour- it’s wonderful to see people pledging their time for a good cause.

Coronation Street- Last weekend Coronation Street fans were devastated to hear that Betty Driver passed away aged 91. Since the news broke tributes poured in as many wanted to express the love and affection which they felt towards Betty- the longest running character in Coronation Street.

Like many I was upset upon hearing the news as I’ve grown up watching Coronation Street and decided to feature a small tribute here on my blog.

Doing a little research I spent some time on the Coronation Street website and have to comment on how lovely it is. Designed to nicely fit with the programme the website is a portal which makes Coronation Street as true to life as possible.

Offering The Weatherfield Gazette Online- an online newspaper which documents all the street scandals, behind the scenes footage, character profiles and Corrie extras which reveal previews of story lines and what’s in store for Weatherfield.

It really is a great site designed with Corrie fans in mind; you can even follow Norris on Twitter which may provide a little entertainment on your Twitter feed. Enjoy!
