Prince William and Kate MiddeltonExcitement for the Royal Wedding is mounting as Prince William and Kate Middleton’s big day is quickly approaching. I can’t believe that there is only 11 days to go!

If you can’t wait for the big day there is an endless variety of television programmes dedicate to the Royal Wedding, many starting from this week. I’m looking forward to ‘Meeting the Middleton’s’ which airs on Channel 4 this evening, but there really is something for everyone. I’m sure my daughter Lucy will love ‘The Great British Wedding Cake’ on BBC 2 on Wednesday evening.

I’ve listed some great TV shows that will get you into the Royal Wedding swing of things. Enjoy…

British Royal Weddings- BBC One

The two part series started last night and is available to watch on BBC iplayer for anyone who missed it. The show documents Royal Weddings throughout the years starting from the Queen Mother’s wedding and is told by people who were there. Perfect if you are interested in the historical side of royal ceremonies.

Meet the Middletons- Channel 4- 18th April 2011 at 9pm

In this documentary by Channel 4 we get to meet the Middletons, relatives of the Princess in waiting Kate Middleton. I’ll be watching this tonight as I’m interested to see where Kate really comes from. Remember if you miss this show it will be available to watch online at 40D.

The Great British Wedding Cake- BBC- 20th April 2011 at 8pm

Featuring Mary Berry and professional baker Paul Hollywood the show investigates the change which we have seen in wedding cakes throughout the years. Wonderful if you are interested in baking or you enjoying watching cookery shows.

How to Nab a Prince- Sky Living- Series starting 20th April 2011 at 8pm

The three part series is a little bit of fun hosted by Patsey Kensit. The show gives viewers top hints and tips on how to ‘nab’ a Prince themselves. I’m sure younger viewers will love this light hearted show, which is celebrating Kate and William’s relationship.

William & Kate: The Movie- Channel 5- Sunday 24th April at 3.55 pm

This made for TV film has had interest in the newspapers mostly criticising the production. However, the film is been aired the weekend before the wedding and is perfect for the family viewing.

William and Kate: A Love Story- BBC One- Monday 25th April at 8.30pm

BBC documentary is said to be ‘an entertaining, warm and insightful look at the nation’s favourite couple’. Great if you’d like to learn a little bit more about William and Kate before the big day.
