Today Time magazine has released its list of the ‘100 most influential people in the world’. Indulging in the world’s most inspirational individuals, the list recognises the people who have created change, inspired others and had an impact on the world which we live in.

Fantastically a variety of Brits are also included, most notably Catherine and Pippa Middleton, who rose to worldwide fame after the Royal wedding last April. In the past year we’ve seen the sisters transformed from commoners to members of the Royal family, and it’s fair to say that they’ve handled the challenge with tremendous grace and elegance.

Along with the Middleton sisters is Sarah Burton, the British fashion designer who made the dream wedding dress for Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, which will forever be featured in iconic photographs of the Royal wedding and British influence doesn’t stop there.

British actress Tilda Swinton, the author of book trilogy Fifty Shades of Grey, E.L. James and singer Adele, whose music and incredible voice appears to have brought pleasure to music fans across the globe, including myself, are all included on this year’s list.

Further to British entertainers, authors and members of the Royal family the Times 100 also features people from the world of politics, unfortunately none of them British. However a number of international females in politics did make the cut as Hillary Clinton, Angela Merkel, Portia Simpson Miller and Christine Largarde are all featured something which I think all women should be inspired by.

Recognising everyone the list has huge diversity and is up to date with everything from technology to sport. Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple and Pete Cashmore, the Scottish youngster behind are both included alongside sports icons including Lionel Messi and Novak Djokovic plus a host of international inventors, economist, world leaders and educators.

So with such huge variety and substance I would highly recommend giving the list a quick read because you might be surprised to learn more about the incredible achievements which these individuals have accomplished. Plus it’s interesting to see who nominated who, and what their personal view on these ‘influential’ people are. It’s definitely got me thinking about who I would put forward…
